If you listen to Bruce Best, University Of Guam's Acting Associate Director of Telecommunication and Distance Education Operation, you'd be all excited about the possibility of OLPC in Guam:
Yet do you note an odd spin to his talk? Did he once mention the pedagogical possibilities that the XO laptop brings? Or is Bruce seduced by the Open Source technology, a geek excited by bytes, not a teacher motivated by education?
While I commend Bruce on his enthusiasm, haven't we heard this before? Don't we already know what happens when the technologists try to force computers into the classroom? Shouldn't we have OLPC Guam educator led instead of computer-centric?
