I just came across this amazingly insightful paper by genius Alan Kay detailing his vision of the 'DynaBook' something that took more than 30 years to finally becoming a reality in the form of the XO.

'A Personal Computer for Children of All Ages'

Note: I like the PDF version of the DynaBook paper much better - It has permanent residence on my XO now!

Cheers,
Avi

Avi, that is an excellent paper! I read it recently to prepare for meeting Alan in early March.

I've only glanced to the paper, and it seems amazing. The initial "story" of a future where two kids are with their dynabooks playing a spacewar game against each other, then wondering "what if we had a sun in here", and going through the various internal and external processes to achieve that is enchanting.

We cannot allow these children to have spacewar games. These games are too violent.
