Hey, I'm looking forward to my G1G1 laptop coming soon.  Any other people out there in Vancouver getting XO laptops?

I got an email last week saying that my XO won't arrive until Jan or Feb, apparently shipping to Canada is delayed?

Waiting for two here, one for my wife (first day donor) and one for me (last day donor). I've been trying to stave off my impatience by playing around with the latest XO images on my laptop, but it's just not the same.

So I should be in/around Portland for two weeks in Feb.  Probably the last two weeks.  If y'all start getting laptops then, I'd love to come up and meet other XO users in Vancouver.  I could bring my XO, of course. 

So could I be so bold as suggest a late Feb VBCXO(?) meet up around then?

Given that OLPC will start shipping on Feb 15, the XOs probably won't start arriving here until March, if all goes well.

Thanks to the helpful suggestion at this post,  you can get your FedEx tracking information.  According to FedEx, XOs should be arriving in Vancouver around Jan 18.

Go to the FedEx tracking site and enter your 7000______ number under "Reference" (leave Account # blank), choose "Canada" and enter your postal code.  Select "Jan 21, 2008" as the estimated shipping date.

My trip to Portland is a go, XO's are arriving, and y'all are game for a meet up, so let's do it:

Time:?  (can I suggest later in the afternoon or evening..)

Afternoon is better for me.  If I am able to come over from Victoria for the day, I would need be on a ferry home in the evening.

If the meeting is somewhere close to, or easy to get to, from any stop along the Bus route in from the Ferry terminal, that would be easiest for me.

I just checked with FedEx, and my XO arrived at the Richmond depot last night.  It's on the delivery vehicle right now.
