Gabey8 is organizing one amazing Philly OLPC Group meetup for December. She's inviting all the XO laptop owners in the Philadelphia area, as well as those interested in One Laptop to Child to meet at the 30th Street Station.
This meeting will feature two activities that is sure to excite the geek in all of us:
- Gabey8 will have USB memory sticks with the Sugar Release 8.2.0 upgrade and Sugar activities. If you still haven't upgraded, you should join the XO Upgrade Parties now
- There will also be Ubuntu and Fedora SD cards so you can try out alternate adult XO user interfaces. These Sugar alternatives will run from the SD cards without actually impacting Sugar on your XO.
Philly OLPC Group Upgrade Party
Cosi in 30th Street Station (info + map)
Sunday December 7th, from 2 to 5 PM.
For all those along the East Coast, 30th Street Station is also the Philly Amtrak Station and there is always the Chinatown buses and SEPTA to get you there on the cheap.
The headline indicates the event is on the 6th yet the article indicates the 7th. Did I miss something.
OLPC Philly's Upgrade Party is on December 7th. Too much excitement for it but the post author (ahem) had it pushed forward a day.
